Karen Wandrag is a South African artist, born in Johannesburg. She has been based in Dubai for the past two years and specializes in modern contemporary art. She has a B-Eng degree in Civil Engineering from the Rand Afrikaans University, but has been perusing her artistic side more seriously since 2004. 

She has provided numerous commissioned artworks to clients in South Africa, exhibiting in various interior design companies as well as the Lize Wendt Gallery based in Johannesburg.

Karen’s work captures the essence of gentle, modern, urban-organic style. True to her contemporary and vintage design elements, her contemporary style is at once timeless and classical. The artist’s creations become seamless extensions of the interior context they’re surrounded by.

Most fascinating is her exploration of texture, the rich surfaces on her canvasses creates an ambiguity of depth and floating form. Exploring new ideas and experimenting with creative thought fuels her natural talent and pure passion for painting and creating art.
